Ambrosius has been a part of the Oslo concert scene since 2017, originally emerging as a roots and folk-inspired act. Their debut EP, Life Machine, was released on May 4th, 2018, with the lead single "Pixie Lady" receiving airplay and attention.

In the years that followed, the band released a string of singles—intended as parts of a larger whole—including audience favorites like "Doll," "Patience," and "Blameless Land." Over time, both the line-up and the sound evolved. Drawing from a broader pool of influences, they redefined their identity—breaking things down, rebuilding from fragments, and inadvertently creating something more layered, more bold.

In February 2023, Ambrosius signed with the Norwegian label FAJo Music. That summer, they began recording their long-anticipated debut album, Pathways. Released to warm reception, the album stands as both a retrospective and forward-looking collection—tracing the band’s evolution while pointing toward new sonic territories.

In january 2025 Ambrosius headed to erkelenz in germany to record their second album titled "Qualia".  in collaboration with VibesBuilder Studios—whose studio and producer helped shape its immersive sound. Qualia continues the band’s exploration of contrast, nuance, and emotional texture, pushing the boundaries of what Ambrosius can be.

Where the name Ambrosius has roots in antiquity, the project itself is something far more contemporary. It’s a concept. A response. A reflection of the culture we navigate, and the sound we believe persists through time—the sound of past, present, and future all at once.

This website is a testament but also an inverted image to our evolving musical ambitions. – melding our band into another format than the musical, will of course lead you off trail. so step up and give us a listen.
